MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets an AI assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT or Grok work directly inside your ShowPage account. Connect it once, describe what you want in plain words, and the assistant builds it: blocks, texts in every language, photos and colors. You review the result and publish it yourself.
What the AI can build
- A link-in-bio page: links, social icons, gallery, map, event, newsletter and custom cards, in one phone-first column.
- A full website: header, hero, features, pricing, FAQ, contact and footer, full width and responsive. Each section becomes an editable block.
Every text, picture and link the AI writes stays editable in the builder, in every language of your account.
Connect your AI
- In your AI assistant, add a custom connector (MCP server) with this address:

- Sign in with your ShowPage account when asked (OAuth).
- Copy your API key from Settings → Api Key. The assistant asks for it together with the account id before it touches a design.
Keep your API key private
Anyone with your key can edit your designs. Paste it only into your own AI assistant, never in public chats or shared files.
How to use it
- Ask the assistant to list your accounts and pick the one to work on.
- Describe what you want. For a link-in-bio page: “Make a page for my yoga studio with a hero, my class schedule, a map and a booking button. Use my logo, in English and Spanish.” For a website: “Design a one-page website for my law office with services, pricing, FAQ and contact.”
- The assistant builds the design and gives you two links: a preview to look at it, and a builder link to fine-tune it.
- Ask for changes as often as you like: “Make the title shorter”, “Move the map above the gallery”, “Use a dark theme”.
- When you are happy, open the builder and publish.

You stay in control
The AI cannot publish or delete designs. Every change is saved as unpublished, and your live page only changes when you publish from the builder.
Tips for better results
- Give the AI the real facts: address, phone, hours, links and prices. It is instructed not to invent them and leaves an obvious placeholder when something is missing.
- Share your own photos, or the link to your website or social pages. Real photos look better than generated ones.
- On an existing page, ask for one thing at a time. The AI only changes what you ask for.
- After a website is built, ask it to translate every section into your other languages.
- Colors, fonts and button styles can always be fine-tuned in the builder.
Frequently asked questions
Which AI assistants work with it?
Any assistant that supports custom MCP connectors, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Grok. Add the server address and sign in with your ShowPage account.
Can the AI publish my page?
No. Everything it does is saved as unpublished. You check the preview and publish from the builder.
Can it delete or break my existing pages?
It cannot delete designs. It only changes what you ask for, and it reads a page before editing it. Nothing goes live until you publish.
Why does it say my design is open in the builder?
The builder would save over the AI's changes, so the AI cannot edit a design while it is open there. Close the builder tab, wait a minute and ask again.
Does it write in all my languages?
Yes. Ask it to write or translate every text for each language of your account. You can still edit any text in the builder.
Do generated photos cost anything?
They count against your monthly AI image allowance, which depends on your plan. Your own photos are never limited this way, so share them when you can.
Is my API key safe?
Treat it like a password: use it only in your own AI assistant. If it leaks, generate a new one in Settings.
